My Monday Moodboard is ... Daffodils

Hello,

Don't you just love this time of the year when the Spring flowers all burst out? I was bought these beautiful daffodils on Friday in tight bud (thank-you Aunty). I left them by a sunny window over the weekend, I wasn't in much as I had a hen party Crafternoon on Saturday and I was at the #stitches2016 show yesterday.

Today was a homemaking day and time to catch up on admin and housework whilst the family were at school and work. And my flowers have come out.

I wanted to share and it kind of suggests that Spring is nearly here...

I want to fill my home with yellow after working with a yellow colour palette last week for a Crafternoon tea.

With some much ribbon and yellow haberdashery around it was hard not to be influenced by the lovely Spring-ness in today's moodboard.

Have a great Monday and start to your week!

My Craft Space Makeover

And After...

Before... (the shame!)

Back in the Summer I wrote this post to find the right storage solution and working space for my new crafty business Samantha Schofield Designs . After a few months and various trips / nights on Pinterest, I think I have a solution.

Storage was my biggest problem as with a toddler she is into everything, I would see her walk out of the room with anything she could grab off the desk and this was not safe and not good for me as new business as I spent hours trying to find things.

So...I had a storage makeover - ta dah!!!

1. The scissors were put way up high out of reach on this cute accessory holder - no drilling. I like! I got these washing up shelves / crockery holders from Ikea for under a tenner. This means that now all my buttons are also high! Mean Mummy!

2. All my rolls of hat fabric, heat proof fabric (for coasters) and inspiring wallpapers have a space by Gran's old sewing table.

3. Each of my craft supplies is in a clear plastic box so I can find them quickly and they won't get damaged.

4. Anything really special (paperwork!, books and lovely beads) are on a shelf above my printer. I had a good sort through and got rid of old paperbacks and books realistically I wouldn't use.

So now, I feel like I have a creative space.

This is a start and I feel inspired by my surroundings...one button at a time..

I know I have more to do, but this is my first step to home working and being more organised in a little bit of chaos!

Any tips, do let me by posting a comment at the bottom.

Zen has returned to my work space...for the time being anyway!

Happy Crafting,

Monday Moods Pretty China Cups

Inspired by the last of the Garden Flowers...

Before we start to look ahead to October and November I wanted to celebrate the last flowers of the Summer. I took these pictures of my new Burleigh pretty cups in the garden with some of the beautiful Melissa and Lavatera.

I love the blue and white designs you get on Burleigh as they are so distinctive and pretty.

I hope that my collection will grow..what next to collect? Maybe some little Christmas plates?

Happy Monday,

#MondayMoods Pretty Little Plates

I love collecting these little old fashioned style plates from Burleigh Pottery .
Burleigh Tea Plates

They are so pretty and a real inspiration for my designs. I use them in the home for potted plants, soaps or to put the odd flower on.

Some are for Harrods and Martha Stewart collections, but they all seem to match, the dainty patterns are divine.

I do have the tea cups but that is another post!

Bonjour Le Tour & All Things French

14th July, Cycling & France

I love France and all things French, I know as a Brit I should hate anything over the channel but I don't. I worked for a French company until last year and I use to love my work visits for the culture, the food and the French way of life all packed into my short visits! I have recently been on a course to brush up on my language skills to make my holidays more enjoyable in France.

My language packs and some lovely pictures from trips to France

We took our honeymoon in France after Mr S asked me to marry him in France 18 months previous. So there is no question that our love for France is part of our relationship and we hope to keep discovering more with our new little family.
Our honeymoon

Today is a big day in France and to celebrate Le Tour 2013 is riding one of the most spectacular rides of the three weeks - Mont Ventoux . I have happy memories of the area as my boyfriend asked me to marry him two days before we arrived in Carpentras near Mont Ventoux. I said yes and never looked back.

Around Mt Ventoux

So to celebrate all things French here are some of my favourite French things in my life, I think that I may have to spread these out over a few posts.

In My Bathroom

It has to be L'Occitane En Provence for the quality and products that really do work. I don't normally write about beauty but for this post, this is a one off.

I love visiting the stores and the smell really takes you back to those times in France. My husband swears by the shaving gel and I love the shea butter hand cream for crafty hands.

I love Fragonard scents too,  I had to visit the museum on our honeymoon in Grasse and see first hand how these beautiful scents are created. They are now available in the UK through M&S, which is great news for getting a little bit of the south of France on your doorstep and in your bathroom cabinet!

Over the coming days I'll post some of more favourite French things for cooking, baby and not to forget crafting.

#MondayMoods Italian Foodie!

My Growing Italian Cupboard...

Starting to get a bit of a collection in my kitchen of these fab bottles and tins from my travels in Italy. They seem to tell a story of where they have come from, who made them and a bit about the area. I feel enriched by the pictures and stories on the labels as I cook...imagining I am in that little hillside town on a Summer's day...just for a while when dinner is cooking..

Will keep building on my quirky collection as it's just so inspirational on my kitchen shelf.

#Mondaymoods May Day Blue

There is something so calming about blue and at the moment I have a sea of blue in the garden. The forget-me-nots, mascari and hyacinths are in full bloom adding a sense of tranquillity on a sunny and warm day May Day.

#MondayMoods Crystal & Pearls

I am feeling all nostalgic as I write this post. Maybe it is the weather? I am sorting through my books and boxes after a stint of DIY and these objects really jumped out at me as they twinkle in the April daylight! Now I have a clean and fresh space at home it gives a inner calm after a busy day.

The buttons are mother of pearl and sewn onto a photo book of all my old baby pictures my Mum made for my 30th birthday. I like at each button like the photos are unique but together they form a regulated pattern.

The pearl silver box was a present and you just want to touch all the little crystals and pearls on the top!

Finally the antique style candle holders catch the day light and sparkle or chime in the wind. I am feeling calm and ready for the week ahead. Hope you are too?

I think these photos sum up my Monday. More next week....
